Ridge View Bank hosted a “fill-the-bus” school supply collection for Franklin County and Salem City teachers on July 31, 2023. The event successfully collected an overflow of supplies to support teachers for the start of the school year.
“We are very thankful for the communities we serve, especially our teachers,” said Carrie McConnell, Ridge View Bank President. “Thank you to all who participated in our fill-the-bus event, and special thanks to the City of Salem and Franklin County for your help.”
Both Salem and Franklin County provided school buses to generate awareness and excitement for the collection events.
“This is one of the first times I’ve seen a fill-the-bus event focused solely on teachers,” said Dr. Curtis Hicks, Superintendent of Salem City Schools. “We want to thank Ridge View Bank for their support for our community and our teachers.”
Ridge View Bank’s Salem and Smith Mountain Lake locations collected supplies such as expo markers, pencils, pens, wipes, card stock, and more.
“Thank you to everyone who came out to Ridge View Bank to donate supplies for Franklin County Teachers,” said Dr. Kevin Siers, Superintendent of Franklin County Public Schools. “This collection will support our teachers in starting out the year positively.”
The Ridge View Bank team also donated supplies to support the cause.
“We are committed to continuing to serve the communities in which we operate,” McConnell said.
